The nimble kayak is perhaps best suited to daring into and out of complicated rocky shorelines and island groups, places where even canoes might struggle to stay pointed in the right direction. Typically one-person affiairs, kayaks also have the advantage (or disadvantage) of being able to roll. The Apostle Islands near Chequamegon / La Pointe abound in kayaks.
